| PP (Recycling-Code:
5) |
The standard variation, Ho-PP (homopolymer)
is stiffer/more transparent and is produced
from polypropylene. Through enrichment with
PE, the Co-PP becomes softer and milky. The
highly transparent types are based on isotactic
PP. PP exhibits good steam blockage, but insulates
poorly against gas. The chemical resistance
to oil/grease is good. Often employed for
MAP-packing as a multi-layered foil like PP-EVOH-PP
and as an EPP, i.e. XPP foamed variant.
Ho-PP can be employed in a temperature range
of 0 ° C to + 120° C.
Co-PP can be employed in a temperature range
of - 40° C to + 120° C.
